Vittoria Sisca
is a PhD student in Image, Language, Figure: Forms and Modes of Mediation at the University of Milan. She graduated with a thesis on the figure of the beginner in the phenomenology of Edmund Husserl and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Her research interests mainly concern the relationship between bodies and environments and, in particular, the relationship between situated bodies and their social environment. Her PhD research focuses on the phenomenological origins of Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of habitus and its influence within contemporary philosophical debate.
