Paola Zilioli
is a PhD student at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Milan within the “Philosophy and Human Sciences” program. She graduated in Philosophical Sciences at the same university with a thesis on contemporary pornography conceived of as a technology for producing bodily subjectivity. Her current research proposes the dildo as an artifact through which she investigates the processes of identity production, with particular attention to the dimensions of corporeality and sexuality. Her research interests lie within the framework of new materialisms, spanning from contemporary aesthetics to cognitive sciences, media archaeology, and queer theory.
She also studied as a theater actress and dancer, and trained as a screenwriter, earning a diploma from the Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti in Milan.
She is responsible for dissemination of PIS-Performing Identities Studies research group activities, including managing the PIS website and social pages.
