PIS Member Nicole Miglio will be giving a talk at Klagenfurt University on the 17th of Janauary 6 p.m. The talk is entitled “Making Sense of Image-Making in Ultrasound Practices” and will address how, together with their diagnostic purposes, fetal images produced through ultrasound have attained a central place in our visual culture. Their iconic power continues to create dissent and debate, not least because of the bioethical issues they raise.
