Being designated a University LAB is helpful for identifying specific research activities and promoting their implementation through a streamlined organizational method. 

Setting up a LAB requires the backing of three faculty members from the same department.  

PIS has been designated a University LAB since July 2019, with the backing of Chiara Cappelletto, along with Luca Ciabarri and Andrea Pinotti.
